Summertime Events
Pack 49 is very pleased to announce additional summertime events:
- Saturday, July 12 – Bike Hike
- Tuesday evening, July 22, Movie Night
- Wednesday evening, August 6, Scout Olympics
More details will become available soon.
For Scouts interested in earning the Summertime Award, you must attend at least one Pack-designated event during each of the summer months – June, July and August. You may attend as many events as you like, but to earn the award, you must attend either the Fishing Derby OR Cookout in June, AND either the Bike Hike OR Movie Night in July, AND either the Scout Olympics OR the Spinners Game in August.
Speaking Summertime Event, you will be getting an email shortly regarding the cookout. Please remember to RSVP, and keep in mind what your den has been asked to bring. See you there!

Scout Registration
You may re-register for the upcoming year at the Cookout on June 22. We will also be accepting registration for new scouts beginning at noon.
Lowell Spinners Sleepover
The last chance to sign up for this year’s Lowell Spinners Scout Night Sleepover is at the cookout on June 22. Full payment for tickets is due at that time. Checks only, made payable to Pack 49, will be accepted. The game is scheduled for Saturday, August 16. The game is at 5:00 pm, gates open at 3:30pm.
Moving Up
Now that June has arrived, each scout has officially moved to the next rank and can begin working on achievements for their new rank.
If you were a Tiger this year, you are now a Wolf. If you were a Wolf, you are now a Bear. Bears are now Webelos I’s, and Webelos I’s are now Webelos II’s. This year’s Webelos II’s are already enjoying life as Boys Scouts with their new Troops!
Memorial Day Parade
Twenty-three scouts from Pack 49 marched – along with our Pinewood Derby-themed float – in this year’s Memorial Day Parade. The boys handed out lots of candy along the route, and represented the Pack in a great way. Excellent job, Scouts!
Pack Satisfaction Survey
The leaders and committee members of Pack 49 are committed to bringing the boys in our community a quality scout program. It would be extremely helpful to us if you would complete and return the Satisfaction Survey that will be handed out at the Cookout on June 22. You may sign the survey or remain anonymous, but please give us your honest opinions, comments and suggestions regarding the pack, your den and our program.

Greater Lowell District Summer Day Camp
Information and forms for the Great Lowell District Summer Day Cub Scout Day Camp are available at the Yankee Clipper Council website. Camp will be August 18 - 22 at the Paul Center in Chelmsford from 9am to 4pm. Registration fee is $165. Camp t-shirts are provided as part of the registration fee.
News from the Greater Lowell District
- Just to let you guys know, the Greater Lowell Indian Cultural Association is holding a powwow at the Tewksbury Livingston St Rec Center on June 28th and 29th. Could you please pass this along to the District. The time is the gates open up at 10am with Grand Entry around Noon. We will close the circle around 5pm on both days.
- Troop 437 of Westford in conjunction with the Westford American Legion is organizing a Flag Burning Ceremony on Flag Day, June 14. The Troop is accepting worn and tattered US flags to be properly and ceremoniously retired. If you have a US flag that is in poor condition, bring your flag the Roundtable this week anytime between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the Billerica Church of the Latter Day Saints 70 Concord Road, Billerica MA.
